Today was a long day, I ended up working until 1AM but in exchange I was able to stop in the morning and ride my bike and get this lovely view of the river [0] and later go fetch my local producer vegetables and have a stroll under this amazing sky [1] so totally worth it.

After a few hours of work, I updated my neovim config ( https://github.com/perrito666/vimconfig) please do not take it as an example I have no clue what I am doing.

I went for full neovim since i do not use this in computers with old vim/vi (I use default config if I stumble upon). It was a long due update since I try to use it more, sadly this does not work on my work computer which is not a debian 😜 so ill have to apply it by hand (even though what is there looks like this but messy)

So, this is the thing that makes me change distros? nvim? I honestly did not expect that.

Today i decided to regain my dexterity in vim (nvim actually). Since i work in python i figured it would be an ideal language to give it a shot. I still like it an speed comes back but can’t shake the feeling that i am making much more mental effort to use it compared to pycharm and that takes from my mindshare dedicated to actually coding, ill keep up a few more days and see if the feeling goes away.

My wife made a very cool gluten free soyrdough so I could have gluten free sourdough bread, which i have been learninh how to do with a course she gifted me when i first learned about my celiac’s disease. I think i finally got it right, it does not grow like a gluten one but tastes really good.

in an effort to claw back a bit of control from the various “clouds” I got my Synology NAS to auto backup oneDrive and DropBox and got an “old” (m2) iMac that my former employer sold me to do backups of Photos (I keep my relevant documents in the other two also), I know Apple is likely not going away, but I can’t say the same about my account.

I was considering switching from my Ubuntu to a fedora and for reasons completely unknown now i am pondering selling my linux laptop and just use a mac mini remotely (that sits in my desk backing up photos) with a tablet and a kb.

Note worthy, apple does not provide an iPad client for screen sharing (it’s just vnc but still, dick move)

So, with some luck, tonight ill be able to sleep early, I have tried to make https://github.com/perrito666/chat2world do the right thing for bluesky and produce 300 chars posts as a thread when I write longer (you know, like civilized people), this was not an issue in mastodon so I did not pay attention to it, hopefully this is (one of) the last wronkle to iron.
